LAGOS — Air travellers in Lagos were thrown into confusion on Tuesday after aviation unions and members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) picketed Air Peace operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The action disrupted scheduled flights and left passengers waiting as access to the airline’s terminal was blocked. Reports said the airline’s Zulu terminal gate in Lagos was locked during the protest.
The industrial action was linked to labour grievances involving the airline, including allegations concerning the remittance of ticket sales charges to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and concerns over workers’ unionisation rights.
One Air Peace flight scheduled to leave Lagos early Tuesday was among those affected, leaving passengers uncertain about when their journey would resume. Similar disruption was reported at the airline’s operations in Abuja.

Travellers arriving at the airport expecting to board their flights instead found themselves facing delays and uncertainty.
