Senegal suffered a disappointing defeat in the first half of their crucial knockout-stage game against England on Sunday night. It was a very poor performance from the African champions, and the manager would be very unhappy with the result.

Senegal did start the game well as they managed to prevent England from creating significant chances in the final third. However, the situation of things changed right after the half-hour mark as England looked very threatening in the final third.

Henderson gave England the lead in the 37th minute before Harry Kane scored with a powerful strike in the last minute of the first half to put England in control.

However, fans were quick to mock Edouard Mendy for conceding two goals in the space of eight minutes against England. The Chelsea goalkeeper faced just two shots and couldn’t manage to keep anyone out in the first half.

I guess fans have every reason to mock Edouard Mendy because his first half display against England was below average. The talented goalkeeper is clearly declining and it’s quite sad to watch.

Mendy was named the best goalkeeper by FIFA in 2021 but his recent performance shows that he’s not at the top of his game anymore.
