Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, outlined the rationale for the club’s selection of Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.
On Friday, the 28-year-£27 old’s million trade to the Gunners was finalized.
After speaking with his assistant coach Albert Stuivenberg, who was Trossard’s manager at Genk six years prior, Arteta moved in to sign him before Tottenham.
We are extremely convinced we are signing the right person and the right talent, he asserted after revealing the oldest player he has signed since Willian is available to play against Manchester United on Sunday.
Why Trossard departed Brighton
Roberto De Zerbi, Brighton’s coach, had made concerning remarks about Trossard, 28, before he left, but Arteta is standing behind Arsenal’s due diligence, saying: “We know the player, we definitely look into the experiences.”
