Jorginho has joined Arsenal from Chelsea for a fee of £12 million.
The Italy midfield will strengthen Mikel Arteta’s midfield options ahead of a Premier League title challenge.
The 31-year-old has agreed to an 18-month contract with a one-year extension option.
Jorginho was in the final six months of his Chelsea contract, and the Blues were attempting to break the British transfer record for Benfica center midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Arsenal attempted to buy Jorginho from Chelsea in the summer of 2020, right after he won the Champions League with the Blues and the year before he hoisted the European Championships with Italy, under Mikel Arteta.
When Manchester City attempted to sign Arteta, he was also the assistant coach.
