Chelsea and Benfica have agreed a fee of £105 million for Enzo Fernandez.
Throughout January, the two clubs have been bargaining.
However, Benfica refused to do business unless the Blues fulfilled his €120 million release clause.
The Premier League club has finally agreed to do so, but they are in a race against time to sign Fernandez before the transfer window closes at 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Fernandez was left out of Benfica’s squad for their match against Arouca on Tuesday night, as the 22-year-old was in Portugal for a physical ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.
Fernandez will fly to the United Kingdom on Wednesday morning, according to Portuguese network SIC, with a private plane leaving Lisbon airport at 10.20 a.m.
Should Fernandez’s move be successful.
