As a way of commiserating with his former teammate, Asamoah Gyan posted a video of the last moment he shared with Christian Atsu.

The two of them performed a hilarious comedy skit while in the Black Stars’ camp, but given the circumstances surrounding Atsu’s death, the video has sparked emotional responses, with netizens struggling to hold back their tears.

Atsu, a winger for many European clubs, including Newcastle United and Chelsea, as well as the Ghanaian national team, died early Saturday.

Atsu’s lifeless body was discovered under the rubble for more than 11 days, during which time approximately 45,000 people were killed by the earthquake. Christian Atsu died at the age of 31 on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Unfortunately, his agent confirmed this on social media today in a new update. The former Premier League player, who played for both Newcastle United and Chelsea, went missing on Tuesday, February 7, after the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6.
