Lee Mason has been suspended for the weekend fixtures following the Arsenal vs. Brentford dispute.

Lee Mason will not be on Premier League VAR duty this weekend after failing to see offside for Brentford’s equalizer against Arsenal on Saturday.

Mason was called into question after Ivan Toney’s goal was upheld despite Christian Norgaard being offside as he crossed for the striker to score.

The PGMOL, which is in charge of Premier League refereeing, stated that the official “forgot” to draw the lines and did not properly investigate the build-up to the goal. The mistake was caused by “human error,” they noted.

Mason was not among the officials in charge of VAR when the weekend assignments for Premier League games were revealed on Tuesday.

He was passed over earlier this season in the round following another high-profile selection.
