Paul Onuachu, a Super Eagles attacker, has left Genk to join Southampton on a permanent basis.
Onuachu has agreed to terms with the Premier League club on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
The South Coast club defeated Eintracht Frankfurt in the forward.
“Paul is a huge acquisition for us and completes what has been a very fruitful month in terms of recruitment,” Southampton manager Nathan Jones said.
“He’s a handful to play against, has a fantastic record throughout his career, and he also offers a lot of experience, so he’ll be a really positive addition to the club.”
Onuachu comes to the St Mary’s Stadium with a big reputation, having scored 17 goals in 22 games for Genk this season.
He leaves with a total of 85 goals.
